A standard 4×8 plywood sheet is 48 × 96 inches. List each panel by width, length and quantity. Then compare those rectangles with your full sheets and measured offcuts. Two piles can contain the same total square footage but produce very different results if one lacks a piece large enough for the biggest panel.
Saw kerf removes material on every cut, so tight layouts need clearance between parts. Visible veneer may also require a consistent grain direction, which can prevent rotating a part simply because it would fit more efficiently.
