Small repairs
Save matching profile for damaged baseboard, door casing or window casing. A short exact-match piece can be more valuable than several feet of mismatched new trim.
Frames and decorative panels
Four compatible pieces can form a small picture frame, wall molding panel or decorative border. Measure every side and allow for miter cuts before committing the stock.
Returns and short runs
Small offcuts may fit closet returns, cabinet-side runs, transition details and other places where a full stock length would create unnecessary waste.
Total linear feet can be misleading
