WALLPAPER · COVERAGE

How much wall does one roll of wallpaper cover?

The number printed as roll area is only a starting point. Real coverage depends on how many full-height drops you can cut from the roll and whether the pattern must repeat between strips.

WHY AREA ISN'T ENOUGH

Wallpaper is installed in drops, not square-foot fragments

A roll can have leftover square footage that cannot produce another full-height strip. Wall height plus trimming allowance determines each cut length. Patterned wallpaper can require additional length so adjacent drops align, reducing the number of usable strips per roll.

That is why two rolls with the same gross area can behave differently on a real wall. Enter the dimensions printed on your roll and your wall measurements in the wallpaper calculator rather than relying on a generic coverage number.

LEFTOVER ROLLS

A partial roll may still cover a useful small wall

Measure the remaining roll length instead of estimating by feel. If it can supply enough full-height drops, it may work for a narrow accent, alcove, closet section or repair. Pattern match, dye lot and condition still need to agree.
